Kington Walks is looking forward to offering you another great celebration of walking in this gorgeous part of North Herefordshire and the wild and beautiful uplands of Mid Wales. We have another fantastic programme of walks from strenuous hill walks offering spectacular views and a good workout to more gentle walks for gardeners, artists, historians and geologists. We will also be visiting some welcoming pubs for beer and food. 

19:30 – Talk: Sven's Story - Another Man's Shoes

A talk by Ellie Somme presenting the fascinating story of her father's wartime experiences.

Ellie’s father was the well known Norwegian scientist Sven Somme.

When Norway was occupied by the Germans during the second World War, Sven joined the resistance movement XU and became one of its leaders in the Romsdal district responsible for recruiting and training 90 other agents.  None of the them knew about the others and none of them was ever arrested.

20:00 – The Hicksters

Inspired by and paying tribute to artists from the worlds of country, rock, blues and folk, their repertoire is wide ranging and truly eclectic. From Irish jigs and reels, through bluegrass and country to 70s Southern rock, audiences are captivated by their joyous and infectious enthusiasm for the music they love. 5 part vocal harmonies, fiddle, banjo, guitars, bass and drums ensure a depth of soundscape and arrangement that makes you dance and sing your heart out with them.
